Safety

The Pookee Pouch and Pookee Ring Sling are made to the highest standards using strong hardwearing fabrics with all sewn components constructed with a reinforced stitch.  I have tested them with up to 26kg/55lb in weight with the ability to hold more!  More than adequate as the average 2 year old only weighs 12.7kg/28lb .  Pookee Ring Slings are only constructed using sling rings (shipped from America) purposely designed and tested for baby slings
You are responsible for reading and following the instructions supplied with your Pookee Product failure to do so could result in injury to baby. Remember with all brands of sling and pouch carriers baby is not tied in. Be aware of baby and of your movements while wearing the Pookee Pouch e.g. squat instead of bending over.
Assure that baby has a good airflow and is comfortable while enjoying their pouch.
Pookee Product are hardwearing and made to last but always check for wear or damage before you go out and about.

  • Use common sense when wearing the Pookee Pouch/Sling.

  • Become comfortable with your Pookee Pouch/Sling, at first support  baby with your hands, when you feel confident enough go hands free.

  • Make sure baby is secure once placed in the Pookee Pouch/Sling, with the sling firmly supporting them.

  • When bending down squat and support baby, be aware of your movements.

  • Remember as baby becomes more aware of their surroundings that they can have a long reach.

  • Do not wear baby in the Pookee Pouch/Sling in potentially unsafe situations such as by a cooking stove or when drinking hot beverages.

  • For yourself

  • Make sure the fabric is spread over the shoulder and not putting strain on your neck.

  • The Pookee Products shouldn’t cause back pain, check positioning and only carry baby to a weight within your personal strength limitations.

  • Certainly better for your back than carrying car seats and babies on hips!
